Just changed my pump this weekend. I worked so long on trying to get that hold down ring properly installed. I almost forgot those clips too.

I did notice that too! Seemed like the rubber grommet was slightly, and by slightly I mean slightly, too bug.
Ended up with my knee on a piece of 1”foam and a 1/2” piece of wood on top pressing down. And yes. Once I got that in, I was like woohoo! Baha.
