takes as long as swapping tail lights out. Quick and easy. Just pop the glass and remove the 3 torx bolts, unplug harness and its out

The third brake light looks like a quick change out. How hard is it to switch out the stock tahoe taillights for the G5's? I've seen a few different write ups on switching to escalade taillights.

Tail swap:
Remove 2 screws, unplug harness, pull out old tails.
Slide in new tails, two screws in, plug harness.
Done! :)

A couple of useful tips:

1. Put a rag tween the tails and the bumper when you pull them out and push them back in.
2. As you're tightening the screws for the G4/G5s, apply pressure to the lamps to push them as far outwards as possible before you tighten them, as sometimes if they are to far in they can rub against the edge of the liftgate.

That is easy. So is there really any difference between Escalade oem taillights and these G5's? I guess Revotec is a good brand? Got the mod bug and been going crazy.
