G5 Tails on

I just got my esky 3rd brake light and will get it painted as soon as it gets here this week and it will be installed immediately.... esky appliques still on hold... might get them in a few weeks or so... waiting on a deal if I find one (not to OCD, just slightly). I tell you guys joining this forum cost $$$$$

Thanks for the info. I was curious. Do you still have to get esky appliqués if you put on the G5's or do you just need the appliques if you go with the esky oem lights?

I'm new to the game. Can someone clarify this?
What is the cosmetic issue issue and does anyone have photo of Esky or G5 with or without the Esky APPs?

The shapes are different. The non-Esky appliqués are completely rounded from the side of the truck to the rear. The Esky appliqués are much more flat from the side toward the back corner of the truck, have a sharp crease, return inward, and then are mostly flat along the rear plane. The G5s (and the oem Esky lights) follow the contour of the appliqué down through the light.

So, when you have angular tail lights mated up to smooth appliqués, the lines don't flow from one part into the other. You'll see the angular kick-out part of the lights sticking out past the rounded bottom edge of the stock appliqué.

Question - when the G4 tail lights are lit up, does the LED pattern match up nicely with the standard tahoe/yukon 3rd brake light? Or do they look mismatched?

The cover of the G4s/G5s is clear, the 3rd oem cover is opaque ... so it's not an exact match.

I see you have the G4's and stock appliques, are the Tahoe & Yukon appliques the same? Also if i read your post correctly, it seems that the G4's are more rounded than G5's allowing one to use factory appliques and factory spoiler. Correct? I dont particularly care for the angular look, but i do like the clear and smooth look of the G4's over the opaque bubbly look of the stock Tahoe taillights. Please enlighten me. Thanks.
