Some of its glory days

I Will be repainting it the same color I think no need to change colors on this truck I think the colors will look so manly with the lift / tires and the black cragar 8 wheels / bumper etc. The paint is actually in pretty damn good condition, but when I'm done with this truck, literally just about 90% of it will be redone/new parts so I might as well have something that'll last me 10 years. I plan to leave florida in a year and a half so this will be my vehicle for a long ass time, there will probably be quite a few times where I'll be living in my truck or a trailer ha cause I plan to travel a lot so it'll work out good.

Haha, yeah it is about time. I live in Sarasota, FL. I'm gonna bring it up to kin in North Carolina for paint. I'll just pay for materials and help him out on his farm for a couple weeks. I've been looking for the 6.0L LQ4 motor I want. I think I should be looking for the motor out of a silverado 2500 4wd from a 2001-2002. What mileage should I be looking for? Whats ok? I want to spend less then $2,000.00 for the motor.

Ha, come on guys I know you can do better then that! Ok so I'm gonna try to find a 2001 6.0L LQ4, I think thats my best bet. Its cable driven, and since I'm doing the NBS dash/gauge cluster swap I think I'll be able to use the PCM from the 2001 truck. The transmission is gonna have to come out and I'm gonna have to have a long talk with monstertransmissions. The transmission shifts really hard because it was built like that but its there top of the line model 4L60e build the "super monster ss" I'm just gonna have to drive the ***** up there and have them lighten up the shifts. Hopefully they'll be less assholes and help me out with mating the tranny to the motor.

Gotta wait 3 weeks for the dash, the guys promised me no longer though. Hes waiting to pull it from the truck for some reason. Within the next 2-3 weeks I will have the LQ4 motor. I now have all weekend to pull the 5.7L vortec with 180K on it. I'm gonna pull off the front grille supports and the hood so I have lots of room to work with. Also gonna set up a tarp above the truck as I'm doing the swap outside.
