Ok, well I can find the motors on car-parts.com BUT its gonna be difficult to get one with accesories I guess. I'm looking for a used 6.0L LQ4 2001-2002 motor. The dealerships around here would want big money for a new crate motor ha. I'm looking at spending under $2,000 for complete assembly.

Bowtiefreak, I would but man there no better at gas mileage and the power gains aren't that much are they? Talking about an ht383e? If you can point me to a good price, I'll think about it. I have nothing against doing a ht383e with 340 Hp @ 4500 rpm / 435 Tq @ 4000 rpm, kinda bummed it peaks at less then 5,000 rpm though. Would that be a pretty much direct swap!?

I could do the ht383e swap with no help, and it would go a lot smoother. Run LT headers, CAI, 3" exhaust, black bear tuned and call it a day. What are those motors getting on mpg any increases over the 350?

As far as I can tell throughout the years of looking at that engine is its kinda silly because your still using the same old ****** injecter assembly as the 350vortec right!?

Found a 6.0L 2001 LQ4 out of a silverado 2500. 90,000 miles good running condition, full accessories shipped for $1400.00 from Miami, FL. If its still there Monday I'll be buying it.

Just waiting on $$$ this week to buy the motor/accesories. Gonna start working on moving over everything ie: lift/tires/axles/bumpers/mirrors , this week. Hopefully should have my motor here or ordered this week, everything transferred over next week and hopefully dash by next week as well.

BASIC PLAN

Purchase 2 floor jacks and jackstands and get some wood blocks > put on temporary tires/wheels > jack up front end > put used vortec 350 for sale on craigslist > buy LQ4 > sell used vortec 350 engine to buyer and give them the option that if they take it out of the truck they get the motor for less (obviously) > drop tranny (send to monster transmissions) > fix transfer case > put engine on stand and start tearing into it.. > gather parts ie: wiring harness, mounts, tune computer, dash, compressor, headers, etc etc etc. > clean engine bay thouroughly > have tranny and transfer case good to go and have neccesasary adaptation from 4L60e to the LQ4 motor > drop in motor and mount to tranny > begin final wiring and accesorie connections

Bring both vehicles to shop > take 1500's axles front and rear out > paint them and add rear mag hytec differential cover > put axles into tahoe > new moog steering / suspension parts for tahoe > take tahoe home > take lift / tires off of 1500 > either sell lift/tires or keep in shed till I'm ready to put them on the tahoe > take stockified 1500 home.

So talked to my guy that helps me do the axle / lift shit. Quoted me $800.00 to swap axles and lift and everything. Good guy! Started playing with the tahoe today. Cleaning out the shed this weekend. Put up the craigslist ad for the old 350 vortec motor. Going out right now to get some jacks.

atomichoe, I'm about to kill myself on money. But... If I don't I'll lose the tahoe. I've got to keep one or the other right now its starting to look like. I'm moving out in 6 months and I've got to pick one of my obs's to take. After putting all the money / time into my rcsb I like my tahoe better. Its kinda like process of elimination for me, I had a 2010 chevy and I still like my 2 door better. So back to the 2 door for good and the rcsb will be a backup/work vehicle and possibly in the future a substitute for a 5.3L swap..
