Well the truck blew a tire lastnight. The rest are all worn out so I'm just buying a set at discount. The truck is sitting at Discount now as its not drivable. (Put the spare on and it blew within 2 miles of driving. Go figure..)So buying a spare as well.
So I'll lay out where I'm at and maybe I can get a little advice to get me to a decision.

1. I'm buying wheels as well.(going to a 17" from factory 20". Want more tire)

2. I want BFG AT KO2's. Firm on this.

3. I only have RC 2" level on at the moment. Planning on upping to 2.5/1 ccm next month. So will have a little more room to play with.

4. I'm not afraid of trimming. Want to go bigger tire.

So based on this what size should I go with? Its been kind of narrowed down for me as Discount Tire has limited sizes for the BFG's I want. I uploaded a screen shot of the available sizes. So I want to go as tall and wide as possible. I would like a 33" tire. In at least a 12-12.5 wide. Like I said not afraid to cut and trim.

Was playing with a tire calculator and found this is probably the closest to the size I want.

At that size, even with just a level, I don't see you needing to do a nor-cal mod. Minor plastic trimming on the inner fender liner probably, but that's about it. Post pics when mounted, love seeing Tahoe's with more tire less rim!

Absolutley will do. Everything is ordered and "should be here friday". Although I will be spending most my time at the Autorama this weekend in houston so i'll post them as soon as I can.
I am however going to be trimming the front lower valence? Whatever that wall is under the front bumper anyway. And I may be removing the factory steps to gain a little more clearence(to the eye anyway). That one is still iffy as my wife is only 5' and might need them to get into the truck. Any idea how much hight I will gain with this tire set up? 1/2" - 1" overall maybe?

Probably no more than a half an inch, since stock size for the 20's measure around 31.9 inches tall. And you're right, it's called the lower valence. I plan on taking mine off completely soon, cause it makes it look taller. Trimming it looks very good when done cleanly, as you don't have to see the tabs that held it in if you take it off. On the steps, just take them off. I'm 5'4" and mine sits on 33's with nearly 4 inches of lift, and I get in easily enough, but then again, I think the struggle of getting in is worth the look, but your wife might not think so lol

01 Konvict you have one of the best looking set ups I've ever seen. I wish I had room for a 7" lift. But I like our cars in the garage and mine has a really short door opening. As the truck sits now with a measly 2" rc level i only have like 3 inches of clearence. I think the ccm is the best I'm going to be able to do. I honestly should have just bought it in the first place. Live and learn. When in doubt always go bigger lol.

Actually I have question. I went with a wheel that has +10 backspace. They had the same wheel in -10 backspace. Could I have fit the -10 or did I make the right decision on the +10?

Bought a used tire to get the truck home from discount tire. And decided to start on the valence. I marked it with a sharpie and took it off. Gonna head over to my dads fab shop and cut it up on the band saw.
