dude go for it. I've looked at EXACTLY what the changes are with the supechips and they do a good tune. Its nothing too crazy. They actually change more tables than the hypertechs that I've looked at and their tunes make more sense.

I would do the tow/performance tune to start but if you're that worried just do the 87 tune. The performance tune adds about 5 degrees timing, leans out the WOT A/F ratio and gets the car into WOT fueling sooner. Just do it, you can always go back!

I used the same tuner almost two years ago to the day and haven't had any trouble at all (knocking on wood). It really woke it up for what it is but it's no custom tune. I just did the 87 and stuck with it but I might have to switch it for the 91.
I say go for it!

Sounds like you should start with the 87 tune. Do it for two tanks of gas and see how many miles per $ you get. For example if it costs you $50 for 285 miles thats 5.7M/$ vs $56 for 310 thats 5.5M/$. Make sense? Usually you'll get more miles per tank on a high octane tune and it makes more economic sense as long as you're not a lead foot.

m = miles

Do you want the tune for mileage or for power?

If you're doing it for mileage than do a mileage average on 2 tanks of gas before the tune and compare it to the mileage average on 2 tanks of gas after the tune. You'll be able to see if the tune helps...

Tuning a truck is not like overclocking a computer but you should, as always, make sure the truck is well maintained and kept up.
