Headlight switch harness wire problem

FYI: That dark green wire is what powers the dash lights. Test that wire with a multimeter to see if it's getting a full 12 volts when the headlights are on.

That's what I asked, if they went out all at once. I guess on my old silverado all the lights went out at once. they flicker on and off sometimes. still need to talk the new owner about it, he has no mechanical skills or experience so who knows. but all his buttons still work.
