Heater hose connection,leak

I don;t how this connection is supposed to be??
The pic is not the angle I wanted, but it is leaking and looks like it is not seated.
How do you remove or connect the connection ?? FSM says special tool

While cold squeeze the black tabs and pull. You can get a whole new part set for under $10 in help section of parts stores. It has the metal screw in piece orings and plastic retainer. Do not Replace screw in piece unless really needed.

It will move a little BTW but should not leak.

Not too bad to replace the plastic and o-rings. Check inside for corrosion, if its bad enough you may have to replace the fitting itself. To be honest, I'd suggest replacing it even if there is a minute amount of corrosion, better to catch it and replace than let it build up and have to do it later on. Better to be safe than sorry, I would consider it preventative maintanence.

Drove the truck about 20 mi today and it isn't leaking any more but I got the new part And will fix it to be sure it doesn't leak any more.
The old part that screws in looks like it might be plastic is it ?

Be verrrryyyy careful taking it out. They break super easy and when they do, they are a b*tch to get out.

X2 i said the hell with it new heads, blast the manifold clean and took it out. manifold became instantly trashed because thread were shot and severe pitting.
