I noticed a gas smell a few days ago and thought nothing of it. But today, it's much more. Major gas leak.

Laying under the car, I can see it coming down the side of the tank, exactly in-line where the driver door and the back door meet. I can't tell if it starts from the side of the tank, or the top. Not sure where makes more sense.

How do I go about figuring out what this is, and how do I fix it?

Thank you so much guys.

That sounds like a "don't be driving" until this issue is solved!! First step would be a fuel pressure tester and a "Fire Extinguisher" since you have a know leak.

You can rent a fuel pressure tester from an autostore, I don't know what the fuel pressure should be on these guys?? But someone here does. And you can add this if you can't find the leak with that tool alone.

My guess would be a bad line or connection on top of the tank. If it were the tank itself it should only leak when fuel level is above the source hole/crack/etc

Thanks Chip

On the last drive I took with it (while leaking), it leaked the most at 2 points, during turns, and when I put the car in park. On the staightaways, next to nothing (I looked at my road and inspected), does this point to anything specific?

Just did some exploring under the truck...right where that support that holds up the tank goes (right in line with where the doors meet), on the top of the tank there feels like a indent there, it feels like a baseball size, and it's full of gas. It's definitely an indent that it meant to be there, but the gas is not.

...Am I really dropping the tank next? Gonna be a crappy night...

I've never had to deal with anything back there, but I'm assuming there's not enough room to do any real work without dropping it

It actually looks like it's in the front of the tank...towards the front of the car. Does this help?

I'm trying to find a diagram of the tank or something, but no luck yet
