nope my light never comes on, i dont think. ive seen it come on once about three weeks ago at the shop we were running it n tinkering w it and it started flashing like a hard code but that was long before all the brand new parts were dropped into it.

and my cts is brand new, along with the pigtail that plugs into it, and i threw on a different map as well. on the modis they were both reading correctly.

it seemed to run great earlier after attempting to reset the computer and all that. although that could be because it runs better when cold, and its like 50 degrees out today as opposed to the eighty or ninety ive been working on it in.

If no CEL light is present check fuse #4, check bulb or with connectors to ecm disconnected and ignition switched on, ground pin E6 on the blue connector. If light is active then but not with everything back together and key first turned to on position the ecm has a hard fault. Truck has not been in a paint booth recently has it?

it is possible you might have a prom that is not fully seated or component mismatch. Also possible is that the unit may have required some programing during installation.

and yeah the proper terminals and turned key on you should have had at least a "12" code pop up.

okay well regardless of the ses light not coming on, its running a lot better. could just be because i reset everything so its back to running right like it does sometimes. and also, i unplugged injectors. started w the pass. side... died right away almost. took only about a second. replugged and started it up, the on to the dr. side... died out and the passenger side saved it slightly then it died back out.
plugged them both in and increased the throttle a bit and i noticed my spray patterns are different. right when i increase, my passenger side dumps it so hard the spray actually looks white for about 2 seconds then about every third pulse it does that. and the drivers side sprays more pulses but its not as heavy as the passenger side.

should i have had to program anything? seemed to just be a bolt and clip in swap i thought...

I found multiple bwd units for your vehicle including that one but no reason what differentiates them (thinking tranny and drive type). you did move the prom from old to new correct? Any reason you did not stick with a delco unit?

the stock computer that comes out of it differentiates them.. the stock number is the number that you use. i think its things such as power windows or none, 4x4 or 2wd, all kinds of things that are linked to the ecm. the stock ecm was numbered to match that, so i used it. and yes you have to use the stock mounts, the prom cover, and the prom. and the only reason i used BWD is price difference. theyre built just the same.

truck ran great going to work this morning. after work, however, it got progressively worse on the way home. i believe it started flooding itself out. it started backfiring three to four times a second as it was dying out and i had to push my foot to the floor to get it to revive itself. got it home, pulled the breather off, and the passenger side injector was throwing fuel so hard it sounded like a sprinkler. popped the throttle body off to swap the injectors. ill replace it tomorrow morning before i head to work.
also i heard something about ICM's acting up if they dont have grease under them??

silicon grease. used as a thermal heat sink medium to help cool module by transferring heat to the mounting base. don't leave home without it.
