HELP steering rack bushing replacement

I would flex both loose ends towards the center and then force them both i to position at the same time.

This bushing is much harder than the rubber one. Its pretty hard to get one edge through as it is.

I'm done with this. I DO NOT RECCOMEND this product. I ordered another rubber bushing for $15 that gets here tomorrow.

After i trimmed it it still took a little wrestling to have it sit on on the bracket. Now it wont slide over on the rack. This bushing is just too thick. I would have to trim some more just to get it to slide over.

Looks like you need a cylinder flex hone tool to finish the job. Does the new parts come with any warning like, "Some trimming may be required"?

I was thinking about how to do this with one similar to one @kbuskill installed. I was trying to figure out how to use the rack as a press with some wood or plastic to force it on.

looks like you need to put that rubber boot on first then slide the rack in

I did this bushing and it kicked my but you have to take a crow bar to the ear and over the face of the bracket and wedge it on there once its on get a 2/4 and a sledge and wack it on keep beating it till its in place. Don't give up I didn't trim mine

Well I wanted to see how much i needed to trim for it to fit. Even with all this trimmed still nothing.

Screw all that, this thing is not worth it. Rather put my effort in fabricating something like this. It'll serve the same purpose
