I have AAA and this process is quite a bit smoother (at least in my experiences). I've had NO problem with them at all

State Farm.. i have full coverage on everything. and they are saying that they dont cover wheels and tires if not damaged in a wreck/accident. hum hello this is an accident.. i simply didnt collide with another vehicle..

and AAA covered my towing of the camper no problem. then the insurance reimburse me for the overage miles charge. because i also have towing on my insurance... but as i was a long haul of 128 miles and had a trailer made the bill higher than normal..

i think they saw that my tires are $425 a pop and wheel are 275 retail they decided to not cover..

but i bet if i was driving a AMG benz with giovanna wheels that are 300-1,000 a pop they would cover it in a hear beat..

OK well after hours on the phone with many diffrent people yesterday took almost all day.. they are going to cover everything BUT the wheel studs bc they are what failed.. i can handle footing the bill for some wheel studs. as long as they buy my rim and tire..

this is the damage to the rotor.. i think its not round anymore.. lol

and the great part is my business partner is charging the shop full blown retail for the wheel and tire.. so i should make back a few hundred in profit to go towards the deductible from the sale..

I simply refuse to pay for something if i have full coverage and they try and lowball and get out of there responsibility..

now i need to decide if im gonna have an HD hood ordered and painted and installed while at the body shop.. :pepper:

Well, glad that it's all taken and today is a new day :) I would agree that it looks like an "over torque" issue on those lugs. I had something similar happen to me on a different vehicle but luckily caught the issue prior to a wheel flying off while travelling down the highway ....

Ok so update.. HOLY COW this is taking forever.. i am going threw withdrawals from my tahoe... the family hoarse trailer F250 with basic radio and crappy stock speakers is on my nerves.. i want my quality sound system back.. :(

just got off the phone with the shop.. the mechanical work is all done..:
new: axel, studs, backing plate for the rotor, new rotor, new caliper, new shock,
new rim has arrived, awaiting the ups to deliver the tire direct from factory..

the truck is in body shop as i type this afternoon. and should get paint this afternoon.. hopefully the tire will arrive tomorrow and i can get my baby back....

I just noticed this thread. Sorry about the damage John it looks like you've been through hell but at least it is almost all over.
I had a failed attempt at doing the free travel mod today but when I took off my rear passenger side wheel I noticed the lugs were probably at 70lbs of torque at the most. Now I am thinking if I did not try the mod on my own I would have had the same happen to me or worst!
Now I am going torque wrench shopping so I can also keep one in the truck.
