I’m replacing the amp and 8” rear left panel woofer, and also want to add an 8” woofer under the center console.

I found a powered shallow mount subwoofer that will fit very nicely, and wondering how to splice it into the system.

Would I just splice into the wires going to the original subwoofer??

I used the factory wiring when I replaced my rear 8” woofer. I, however am still running the factory amp with a bypass harness I made so the doors get bass as well. I’d like to to upgrade to aftermarket amps for the sub, and one for the doors one day. If you are putting in an aftermarket amp, even though you are mounting it in the same location, I would run new power/group. You’ll have to run RCAs and remote wire anyway if using aftermarket head unit so might as well. You’ll be right at the firewall already, and almost all parts stores carry nice rubber grommets now to clean up and protect the firewall pass thru
