How's the ride after lowering?

msj724, i used to have a TBSS also and that thing was ridiculously bumpy after dropping it, not to mention all the other stuff you had to buy when you lower it...

personally, i wouldnt lower a full size suv. kinda defeats the purpose of having an suv, thats just me. to each their own... but do know, lowering the truck is way more than swapping out springs. it will probably require a lot more money than you think... the TBSS is an example!!

r beezy you went with the belltech which i think you did in front when i installed them

ive done many newer yukons and 3/4 djm rides great. in front the arms dont change ride at all an din rear wiht the 3 or 4 inch kit rides fine. even their 2 inch front drop spring rides nice.

As for the tbss ive lowered well over 40 of them heres the facts
1) the kbee coilover ride beter than stock in the tbss in front
2) the belltech adjustable struts ride better than any other springs out there for the tbss
3) any aftermarket spring for the tbss just suck plain and simple doesnt matter what brand.

you want a good ride the djm 2 inch front a arms rear 3 inch spring kit with hardware kit rides extremly well. Most of my customers are in their 40s with the tahoes ive lowered and all want a good ride when lowered and the djm kit gives it for sure.

Also ive done many belltech spindles/rear springs set up and i like the ride the only thing i like is the design of djms rear kit for the trailing arms and sway bar.

btw here is the djm 3/4 drop kit check it out

as for the front belltech 2 inch drop spindle is nice also.

many times have i used the belltech front drop spindle with the DJM rear 3 inch complete kit

Yeah Beezy...I wasn't sure I really wanted too at first, but I like the way they look once you get rid of some of that fender gap. The way I see it, I will still be riding higher than most cars out there, I don't take the Tahoe off-road, and I don't have anything to tow. So a little 2/3 drop shouldn't hurt too bad, except maybe my ass. lol.

have you ever dated a real pretty girl .. but she was as annoying as hell..its kinda like that.lol. the truck might not ride as nice ..but it will handle better and you will get used to it in a week or so.

Love that analogy….

I just lowered mine with 2/3 McGaughys kit ( spindles up front/springs in da back )…

Pretty much every car I have own has always been lowered, using different methods.. from my first ghetto drop of cut springs, to eibach springs with tokico shocks, up to full tein suspension. All of these were on import cars, don’t have much experience with lowering trucks/SUVs until now.

Anyways, thats just some background. Yes the ride is slightly bumpy, but I don’t think it bad at all. I have read a lot of reviews of people complaining about the ride quality when using the kit I used. I am thinking that a lot of these people probably don’t have much to compare the quality of the drop other than plenty of other stock vehicles they might have owned.

Just do it, unless you are an old grandpa, you will be alright.

Yes spindles are better for ride quality up front only if you want it to be just likes stock. I wanted better cornering and so on so Pedders was the choice. Real happy I chose them too becuase unlike many on here, my Tahoe rides real close too stock.
McGaughys and/or Belltech have the best 07-Up Tahoe spindles.

You can slam the new bodies and they ride great, especially with spindles or struts. My truck rides great slammed, buddy's 07 esky rides awesome with a 2/3 drop on the stock 2s.

How does lowering affect the towing capacity? I am assuming that you lose towing pounds.

Secondly, the kit that DJM posted is really nice but I noticed it was only for the 2WD models. I'm guessing I'm SOL on my 4WD Hoe?
