i'm 22 and my car story starts out with a 95 taurus that i got for free as a graduation present. When the tranny blew on that, i got a loan from b.o.d.(bank of dad) for a 2001 taurus which after 6 months i traded for my 02 grand prix. Once again, another loan from b.o.d. one year later i had that paid in full and 1 1/2 years later i got a real loan for my 04 tahoe. anything aftermarket on either was paid for and there's really no other outstanding debt. if i went around putting everything on a credit card like some people my age i imagine there would be 18's and a full exhaust on my grand prix and some 22's on my tahoe. someday....

My parrents have paid for my truck and 65. They also paid for all the mods done to them. I had a choice of either them buying me a new truck or buying me a house and I chose the house for some stupid reason. I pay for my bike though.

I also had a 98 altima that they bought me as a DD in HS.

As you can see, most of it started with parents. I had alot of help from mine, but not really for the cars. I only own 2 right now, the truck and the tahoe. Back in 1995, my parents bought a 95 single cab silvy for me. I had it for 3 yrs, then was a hand me down to my brother. 2 yrs later, I was able to trade it in for my first owned truck that I paid for myself. From there, I did all the truck/hoe paying on my own. The 95 silvy($5000) helped me get the kick start I needed. Thanks mom and dad :hands:

Be sure to thank Mom and Dad for their kindness. I have had to work for everything my whole life, not as fortunate as others, but not complaining. Saved money when I was younger, lived with parents until I was 25, got married and used the money as a down payment on a house. I keep my vehicles for an average of 8-12 years and try to get low financing - really want to replace my wife's vehicle at 0% but all this shit with GM really worries me. And stay away from the credit cards - they are an easy out but will kill you in the long run. As my late Dad used to say, "If you can't pay cash for something, then you can't afford it." Wise words - had to convince him to get one after mom passed when he was 70! Anyway, enjoy what you got and be thankful for what you got.

I used my hefty tax return to buy the Yukon. It was more like a Necessity than anything thought with another kid on the way. I wanted a Sierra or a Z71 but wife said it wasnt practical. As for my other cars I was in the military for 5 years so that explains those. Before that I was like the other kids on here where mommy and daddy bought all my cars...Man that was the life... Still waiting on my dad to give up the car he has now (2001 Mustang Bullitt) He is 68 why is he driving that!!!! I had a 1998 Mustang GT when I was home it was his old car when he got the 01... If I only wouldnt have been a bad kid.... So yeah all the lucky kids on here.... you better enjoy it while it lasts!!!
