So I think I hurt my trans... No I know I hurt it, the question is really how bad.. So while I have owned this truck (2004 Chevy Tahoe 4x4, 5.3 flex fuel) for about 6 months, I have only put on about 2,000 miles. This truck is really is used to tow my 27 foot camper, and it does it well. Since I have gotten the truck the 1-2 shift has been a bit harsh, but other then they the trans has performed well. UNTIL, yesterday.. I was driving the truck by itself (no trailer). I got ticked off at the guy in front of me, hit the gas harder then I normally would and as soon as it down shifted I knew something was wrong so I got out of it. Now any shift above about 1/4 maybe 1/2 throttle is sloppy and weak, she is slipping in 4th (at least) and over all just not a happy camper. With that said when being driven gently its not that bad.. Today I drove her about 150 miles mostly at 75'ish on the highway with no issues as long as I was light on the gas.
So I blew something obviously, the question is could I be lucky and it just be a solenoid or is the transmission toast??
Thanks
