That piece is the roll-over sensor. No, I did not remove it, but cut a small part of the console mounting bracket away to fit around it and everything pretty much fell into place.

I got the console from there:

The consoles Casey has are very good uninstalled condition. Not cheap, but pretty much the going price for a nearly new console assembly. It was packaged well and had everything to install the console. The cabling is missing to the dash, but at least the console is there, which is a BIG plus.

Just bought a 2010 SSV and was looking for a center console. Had a hard time finding a reasonably priced one so I went with a jump seat instead. It came in today so I hope to get it in soon.

Did you have any issues installing the jump seat? I am in the same boat. Is it as simple as just removing the front seats, installing the jump seat, and then putting back the other seats?

I pulled a jump seat from a Silverado in a salvage yard for only $7. Direct bolt in to my PPV.

I just had to unbolt them and lift them up to put the jump seat in. Didn't take them all the way out of the vehicle

For me this was not a simple bolt on. I got a jump seat on eBay from a Silverado, I don't know what year but the seat fabric matched perfectly. There was a wiring harness that came out of the floor right by the roll over sensor, and that plugged right into the jump seat on the passenger side to power the 12 volt receptacle in the jump seat. I thought the brackets were bent as I just couldn't get it seated, although they were bent from shipping I straightened them and realized the bottom of the console was resting on the Stabilitrak sensor. I ended up cutting about an inch from the bottom of the jump seat, the plastic which has an insert over it. I cut a little more than needed but was able to get it seated. I didn't touch the bracket, however I think it is either resting or very close to the sensor. Everything did bolt up finally and I'm happy about how it looks, I just hope the bracket being so close to the sensor won't be an issue. I sure wish I got the right jump seat, but I really had no idea what year Silverado, the listing said 2008-2010, and my Tahoe is a 2012. I was going by eBay descriptions and it "looked" right, didn't anticipate a significant difference like this. Definitely didn't expect this.

Just to confirm you use the same holes that the seats are mounted with, right? It's not offset or anything? I couldn't get it to seat without trimming some plastic.

Glad you got it in. So you cut the console cross member to fit around the rollover sensor? I just cut the plastic cover. See my album pictures. I what year was your console from?
