Changed my intake manifold gaskets this weekend after pulling a 171/174 error.

The shop tried to get me on a new fuel pump (which they claimed was low pressure), but after researching online and finding intake manifold gasket issues, I made them smoke test the intake manifold. I was right.

The shop was wrong. Surprise...

Fuel pump seems fine, but I will pressure test and watch it. Cats I will do myself next weekend, just because they are rattling.

After repair idle is perfect. I also cleaned the throttle body. The truck runs like it is brand new. MAF looked clean, so I did not bother cleaning.

I will post pictures, but there is some good information online to research.

Changed mine a cpl yrs ago, wasnt bad, the hardest part was disconneting the wire terminals. Turns out it was a bad maf sensor from autozone that i changed out first.

I replaced mine in September. Like samtman18 stated, the hardest thing was disconnecting the wiring harnesses for each fuel injector. :banghead: Other than that, its a pretty straight forward install.
Oh yeah one more thing, I had to clear the error codes after the install, but once I did that, it ran like a champ.

I forgot the part # but if you search my threads one of the members posted the # for the nock sensors and an updated wiring harness for them. My biggest pita doing this was just popping off the gas lines.

I didn't do that video yet.. sorry :( No, I wouldn't use any Silicone anywhere.. With the right tools those gas lines should literally pop off.
