The pads on my 95 hoe are newer and the rotors and drums, while not new, are fine. I just had a brake flush and the brakes are still so spongy. Is there any solution to this problem? Ive only had the hoe 1 year but it looks like a newer master cyl. I havent noticed any consumption of fluid(no drips anywhere visible). Would new drums and slotted rotors be worth the money? Could it simply be a weak brake booster? 4-way discs or the power-boost setup are out of my price range. Any tricks , tips or thoughts would be appreciated. This is my daily driver so better brakes would be nice. It might be a fairly stock 95, but I love it!

Stainless steel brakes lines would be a good start, after that dimpled or slotted rotors. A lot of guys like the powerslot rotors/hawk pad combination, haven't ran them personally though.

Yeah these things are pretty hard to stop. The brakes in my 00' are pretty spongy as well, I'm just hoping they get better after I replace the pads in my drum brakes. If you are looking for slotted rotors and you have six lugs foreverfalcon40 may still have these for sale, I think the part number is in there so you can make sure they'll fit http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2092 damn good price for Brembos :imo: To help the spongyness you could get steel brake lines and if you have abs i heard that disconnecting the system can firm up the brake petal. I would look into it before doing it though. Or if you want to go all out on your brakes check this out: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1408&highlight=hydroboost

Hawk pads, slotted rotors, SS brake lines. Also a new master cylinder off a newer chevy with a larger bore or the one that SSBC sells called the firm feel master cylinder. Another trick you can try in a parking lot is to pull the fuse under the hood for the ABS, the light will come on but the brakes will still work. The ABS pumps have a tendancy to reduce the pressure to the calipers if the system thinks that a lock up is coming.

My next upgrade is the master cylinder, I have heard good things about it....just not about the cost.

What about a hydroboost?

It seems like a big secret deal to talk about. I can't get any info out of anyone, even the guy who posted his pictures from his conversion. That could help...

A lot of info 'bout the hydroboost set-up on the internet, google comes up with a lot of hits. I have even seen it on some shows on the Speed Network. From what I have read and seen it is a big upgrade.

SS brake lines are in today..don't know what i expected but don't really notice too big of a difference..i would say that a bit of the sponge is gone from the peddle..and hey the old lines were 10 yes old in my truck so 50$ is worth it.haven't tried at highway speed yet tho.but i like em'.

yeah my ss lines helped a little, and the ABS fuse did a little more. Next up for mine is to track down a few things for the Rear Disc swap (Hopefully will get this on there FINALLY) slotted front rotors and Hawk pads all around. If that doesn't help any i hope to track down the hydroboost parts from one of the salvage lots and put that in there.
