Forget my noobyness but it's ok to paint the entire rotor? I see people do it all the time. Just wonder if it builds up on the pads

Same thing I thought and I'm pretty sure that it's a no no. Unless this guys knows something about the kind of paint we don't know? But I'm seeing a rattle can so assuming its just that then the paint will need to come off the contact surface before installed on the vehicle.

yes it is just regular paint the contact patch will be cleaned off when I do the embeding process on the new pads, leaving that area nice and shiny but keeping the rest protected from rust.

I think it is the people that have powder coated that surface that have the issue as it does not come off as easily.

lol funny u say that I know 6 trucks from sema last year that all had to have new rotors for that exact reason

Yes looks good. Confirmed spray paint will be removed during the embedding process and through the course of normal braking. There may be a burnt paint smell for a while,
but that will go away.

Spray Paint will remove YES, Powder coat NO. Too thick and it is baked on too hard IMO as stated above.
