Dang. Sorry to hear this. Hard to imagine that so much damage can result so fast. Glad that you are okay though. :)

Man that sucks!!! I'd be nervous too with the airbags going off. I hate deer for this reason. There was one winter where I hit two deer. The second deer I'd only had my truck out of the shop for a week! I almost stopped the truck to turn around and run the deer over again after that second time :lol:

I'm not sure if this is why it doesn't work but I read that seat belts are supposed to be replaced if being worn while air bags are deployed because once they stretch out they're in need of replacement..

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I'm in the middle of the ******* ocean right now while my truck sits in a parking lot helpless and jacked up.

@Ben... hmm that's a damn good idea! Projector retrofit + colormatched z71 bumper = ****.

@Burb you hit a deer in which vehicle?

Josh my seat belt will def need to be replaced because it won't retract anymore and it's stuck in it's current position and can't even be clipped in while i'm sitting in the driver seat. I was wearing the seat belt when I hit the deer.

It was back in 2000. I had a '94 extended cab silvy. Hit the first deer close to Thanksgiving. Got the truck back about 3 weeks later and a week after that I hit a second deer in the exact same part of town :mad: actually both times they hit me by running into the side of my truck.

The third deer I hit was in '03. I'd just bought my '03 blazer Xtreme and was driving down the highway. Came over this hill and this huge buck was standing in the middle of the road. I swerved but the corner of my hood still caught his chest messing up my headlight, hood and fender.

Ouch that sucks. Not surprised on the damage. Down here they are common on the outskirts of town. I've had a few encounters but have missed them. If I wouldn't have been on road trips when I see them I would wack one and come back home with fresh food. Usually air bag deployments are gonna be a total loss but in your case I doubt itl be totaled
