Surprised that the bags went off. Sorry to hear Felix but in the end I am sure you will get some more goodies that make you like the truck more.

Man sorry to hear that bro. My best advise is take it to a shop you trust to be looked at. NOT in your driveway. The shop will be able to work with the adjuster to make sure it doesn't total if that's what you want. They will also be able to make sure it's adjusted properly suspension Ect.... Don't worry about the wheels you can take them if it totals. Progressive is know out here to short change so please head my advise even if it's a mechanic shop. I think Cali lets you use used reconditioned bags so it should not be so bad. Again sorry to hear. Glad your okay. There are still lots of yards that have brand new trucks totaled from hurricane Katrina out here in Ny in perfect condition that won't sell. Hit me up if you need some parts places.

Did the onstar representative come on after your accident? I keep hearing these radio ads where they dispatch emergency crews out if needed.

Glad your alright and nobody got hurt.

Its not that the airbags deployed that totals the vehicle. It's the cost of replacing all them that adds up and is calculated vs. The actual value of the vehicle .... age, mileage, etc.

In a side impact you have the roof curtain and seat airbags. The labor to replace them and the exterior damage. Add all that vs. The current value of the truck. That decides total or not.

Years ago on my parents Aerostar the van had frame damage. Got hit in the rear and pushed it into another car in the front. The vehicles unibody frame bowed upwards in the middle. Buckled the side panels and of course the front and rear damaged bumpers, fenders, etc.......

All this and they still did not total it. Even though we felt like it should be.

They paid like 12,000 for the van used. Had it 4 months got it. The estimated damage was 7,000. They said no total.

Has to be over only 80 percent of value to total. Many states require brand new air bags and modules instead or allowing recycled ones. This inflates the cost of repair. significantly.
