Still blows my mind to think we can order auto parts from of all places...Walmart? I'm still almost embarrassed at times to admit it. Anybody with me on that?

Like those shoppers in Harbor Freight avoiding eye contact with or side-eying the other shoppers cuz you're all a little ashamed to be there?

So once I got the truck up in the air I put the tripod under the tank…

Next I sprayed some penetrating oil on the tank strap bolts on the back side of the nut…

I attempted to back the bolts out with my impact, but due to severe rust the clips holding the nuts both sheared…

I then disconnected the fill and vent hoses from the fill neck so I can lower the tank…

Next, I lowered the tank far enough to get my head up there and remove the fuel pump lock ring. The repair fittings someone had installed previously were too rusted for me to remove without damaging the fuel pump or lines….

The tank finally disconnected and lowered to the ground…
