are you talking transmission temp? nevermind I guess not, I just never understood how any size radiator would make any difference on the coolant temp since the thermostat controls that and only opens at a set temperature. a bigger radiator or even a swimming pool wouldn't make the thermostat open any sooner.Well the maiden voyage of the new radiator happened tonight.
On a 20 mile ride, running 55 - 60 mph without any real stop and go traffic with the A/C off (so the cooling fans were off) the temperature stayed at 172°- 174° as seen by the OBD2 data. Ambient temperature was 70°- 71° according to the mirror.
This is right at 20° cooler than what the truck has always ran in the past.
Now I need to figure out at what temperature it goes into Closed loop mode. As long as the truck is in closed loop mode I won't worry about it.

That wasn't my intent. I don't have any formal education beyond 9th grade and my "training" is accumulated from a lifetime of ****-ups and, eventually, internet research.
I honestly do have issues with retaining knowledge applicable anywhere else in life other than the garage. Two track mind: **** mounds and motors.
Also, I honestly do geek out on your oil filtration system and UOA results. Like I said- simple pleasures for simple minds.
