Key FOB while surfing

My fobs have been washed, several times, with no problems whatsoever. Maybe they are waterproof??

Get some lead sheet and wrap the fob in it. or make a small lead lined box.

Take the key out of the fob and just use the key. This is assuming that you have a key override to start the car.

Month 3 of my 2015 Yukon and I'm loving it. One frustration, though. I have no idea what to do with the key FOB while doing water sports like surfing. I had planned to take the key out of the FOB and tie to my swimsuit, then lock the FOB in the car. No dice. The car is smarter than I am and unlocks the car if the FOB is inside. I can't hide it on the car because then the car can be unlocked by pressing the door handle button. Any other ideas? Zip lock bags, dry bags, etc won't work. I can't bring the FOB with me on the water.

I have a 2015 Yukon XL. I do a lot of stand up padleboarding and faced the same problem. Try removing the key from the remote and leave the remote in the vehicle. Lock the doors from the outside using the key at the driver's door key slot. Doors should then remain locked even though the remote is in the vehicle. You can unlock the doors using the key in the driver's door. This works on mine so I only have to take the key into the water and not the remote.

This is the way to do it. This is my 2nd car like this. I always have a locksmith make a dummy key then leave my FOB in the car. When locked from the outside of the drivers door with the key it will stay locked.
