I am getting a similar code on my 2002 suburban.
On my truck apparently water gets between the engine block and manifold and corrodes the sensor. I bought 2 new sensors and 1 new manifold gasket (manifold gasket is not reusable) so i am currently planning on replacing both sensors and just being done with it. Also removing some foam pad thats under the manifold and using RTV sealant to build a dam/wall to stop water from getting into that area.

The sensors were not cheap and the damn gasket is the same price as on sensor. Because of the cost of the gasket i figure ill just do both sensors and not pay for the 2nd gasket later. it looks like a fun job, remove the entire manifold with injectors and all..

I did it when I first bought my '03 Suburban. CEL came on as I was driving it away from the previous owner's house. I was livid.

Once I scanned the code it and did the research, I got both new sensors, new harness (a new harness is a must, btw) new gasket, and I even did the throttle body gasket...I think it all cost me around $150. I wouldn't consider that to be TOO expensive. You just have to shop Rock Auto, Amazon, and eBay. I think I got the sensors from Amazon, the gaskets from rock auto and the harness from eBay.

Anyway, that took care of the light, and the Suburban has been rock solid ever since. Considering I pretty much stole it from the guy, I'm not complaining one bit.

Enjoy your job. It looks challenging, but it's easy. Make sure you have the tool to disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail on the manifold. That way, you can leave the fuel rail installed and not mess with removing it. The tool is less than $10 if you don't have one already, and WELL worth it.
