Sounds like all new bag $$$$, your state may require new bags, some do some don't. . Take it to a shop of your choice as a cash job. They can't force you to repair anywhere just like the other gentleman posted.

Use the extra money for Xmas gifts.

Use aftermarket capa certified parts. Keep in mind the mileage on this truck. If it goes another 2 years that's still not enough in my book to buy oem parts for a light nose shot.

Although I do agree with you that with the mileage sometimes aftermarket parts are good enough, I say go with OEM for most of it. Take it from someone who has put hundreds of these GMs together after collision, the aftermarket fenders, bumpers, grills, and lights are mostly junk. Not saying that you cant just replace one thing aftermarket and it will look alright, but when you start doing the whole front end, you are better off with OEM 100% of the time.

Actually, since it is a GMC, you cant even use the capa grill. The aftermarket companies cant stamp out the GMC logo where the emblem clips in to. So instead the part that it clips onto is a black square, so when you clip your GMC logo in, the grill isnt cut around the actual letters. (not sure if I explained that good enough)

What if you happen to source good used parts and get them installed by the shop. Oem fit. He'll of a lot cheaper, good way to fix oem on the cheap

Capa will fit fine. They have dialed it in over the years. The extra cash for a engagement ring or sport bike or play house for the kids in the yard will make you forget about parts being oem or not.

Just my 2 cents. Glad to hear it did not total.

Even though it doesnt look that bad I am kind of surprised its still fixable even with the air bags deploying.

Also, I would be very wary of taking it to a state farm preferred shop. It is illegal for insurance companies to tell you where to get it fixed(despite what they tell you) so make sure you go to a shop that you trust.

Thats good that you can get new parts OEM, as they are 100% better than aftermarket junk. If I were you I would make sure they really are OEM because some shops will tell you one thing and use another. I work at a body shop so good luck.

Thanks for the input. I was referred to the shop by the GMC dealer down the street, that services my truck. Just so happens they're a State Farm preferred vendor.

Ouch... Sorry to see that. But glad everyone was ok, and they didn't total it out. Good time to upgrade to Denali front end :naughty: and HD hood :hmm: .

The parts were only $4,300. The labor was the remaining $2,800. The big ticket items were:
Front bumper
Bumper cap
Air deflector w/ both fog lights
Head lamp assembly x2
Hood w/ hinge assembly
Radiator supports
Right front fender
Driver airbag
Airbag diagnostic unit
Left front airbag sensor

I understand that if I were to put an HD hood on, the hood would have to be cut and modified to fit around the lights...correct?

Yep, labot costs mostly. When I just had my front end nailed, $7k+ also. I sourced the SS bumper, and had shop install n paint. And I still got OEM bumper out of it also, all no cost to me. And then when rear ended, less then 2 months after front, sucky. I had the Denali rear bumper put on, and painted. And got $500 in my pocket, cause I found the bumper cheaper then quoted. Insurance companies don't care what's on there, as long as something is. When it comes to actually being fixed. If ur body shop will do it, which most will, as long as OEM, cause they hate making crap parts fit. Shouldn't be an issue for most shops.

May not want to do Denali front, just putting thoughts in your head. Haha.

my buddy had his front end ripped off his blazer by a girl backing up into traffic. I rebuilt his front end and all supports with capa certified parts and you couldn't tell the difference. he still has it and never talks about regretting not going with OEM replacements

Still haven't gotten my truck back. Shop is taking their time with it. I did find out that the shop was able to get all new factory parts instead of used or aftermarket.
