Have to cut some of the carpet off the fender well liner. It rubs and pulls the liner up and down. Need to remove about 4 inches.Any cutting/trimming needed?

As of today 8,249 miles. AVG mpg 21.9
6ft 6 3/4in or 78 3/4" from ground to top of roof rail. I laid a straight edge across roof rails and measured to flat concrete surface in 5 areas along roof rails.
