help with headers

whats up guys. im looking for some long tube headers/cats bolt on kit. i have magnaflow cat backs installed on it now i would like to keep. im very limited on tools and i will be doing the install my self. i was hoping anybody with experience with headers will chime in. not looking to spend an arm and a leg but i dont want to buy crap either. thanks in advance.

I have LPP's Jeff, I love mine, but i did run into to fitment problems, but all are resolved sometimes they go in like butter and sometimes you gotta beat them check out my sticky thread

thanks for the reply Jr. ive got another ? are short tubes a waste of money and what did you do about the cats. did you just delete them or did you keep them?

yeah shorty's is a waste of money and not worth the hassle, i did delete my cats and had my tuner delete the sensor..you'll probably need a tune after the header install jeff

Jr, i read your sticky thread. i noticed you were dabating about PaceSetter's. what do you think about those? i can pick those up and a Y pipe from SummitRacing.

only reason why i didn't pick them up was because they weren't coated. these are stainless steel., you're gonna have to paint the PaceSetter... I have a couple of friends with them and they look like shit if you dont prep them right, paint starts coming off..

I have LPP too and theyre pretty good, the only thing that bugs me was i had some fitment issues. i had to get a custom steering shaft made because the stock one was too thick. it was worth it in the end though. worth the power increase. LPP doesnt seem to have our years in stock, but texas speed sells some cheap stainless headers too

CalSpeed also sells a set of longtubes for $350. I don't personally own them, but they seem pretty good for the price, though they require modification to fit 4WD/AWD applications.

edit: The y pipe is 3", which seems a little disconcerting. "...require aftermarket single 3" catback exhaust required to fit." Would be nice to have 3.5" all the way back.
