Do you know how much your car and trailer weigh? I'm not sure on the 2 door, but the 4 door is rated for 6,500lbs with a 500lb tongue weight. The tongue weight goes up to 1k with a weight distributing hitch. I tow a camper weighing around 4,500 and it does OK. I wouldn't personally go any more than 5k with mine.

Look around here for common problems. Check the transfer case for signs of wear in one particular spot on the case. Check the ball joints - those alone are $700 or so unless you can do the work yourself. Stuff like that can add up quickly if it hasn't been done.

unknown at this time.
didn't mention weight sorry.

4x4 with 3.42 gears have a max tow load of 5,500 lbs.
same vehicle with 3.73 gears has a load of 6,500 lbs.
if a 2wd vehicle then you can add 500 lbs. more to those ratings.
regardless no more then ten percent of the total load should be at the hitch.
since you are looking at towing a race car and trailer for it.
i can not stress enough these points. it is essential you have trailer braked preferable on both axles and you must use a weight distributing hitch so you maintain stability control of the vehicle while driving.
