Hey all. Ive never owned a nnbs body style truck nor have I owned a pickup truck but I've owned a few nbs Tahoe. Just sold my 2004 tahoe z71 with 165k miles and now I regret it.

So now I'm looking at this 2009 avalanche 2LT with 152k miles 4x4. It's a Michigan truck but the guy said it's always been garage kept and he said he is the second owner with his father being the first.

My questions are how will I like this truck compared to my 2004 Tahoe z71 I had and any tips to look for when I go check it out? Any common problems?

It looks very clean. It's black on black and interior looks super clean. He says everything works as it did when new. He listed it for 13,500. I asked if he would consider 10k and he says he's firm at 12,500. Is this a fair deal? I'm going to try to post pics if I can soon. It has the 20" LTZ wheels with black leather.

Are these trucks pretty reliable or is there an issue with the active fuel management?

Yes. The severity of it is another issue, though. Some people have to replace or repair their engines at fairly low miles whereas some get by without doing much at all for a long time.

Disabling (either with Range device or tune) the AFM asap is the best course of action. You can also remove all the components from the engine, but that is a bit more involved.
