Loosing coolant. Underhood coolant smell

Ok. I checked their website. I got 4 different part numbers for the radiator. The most expensive one is GM # 20935856 @ $465. The others are around $260 each. I'm guessing the most expensive one has both transmission and oil side tanks. I'll give the parts dept a call tomorrow and see if that is correct. Considering the price and how little I drive it, I may go TYC or Dorman. Will check Rock Auto as well. We will see.

Looks like part # on that listing is 19256746. That part # isn't listed for my vehicle. My Tahoe came with a heavy duty cooling (increased capacity/wider radiator), hydroboost brake, 3/4 ton hitch, etc. Obviously a package option for towing in 2005. I'm sure the previous owner got the option with intent to tow a heavy boat. Although they didn't get the lower 4.10 gear ratio. Probably talked out of it for gas price reasons. Who knows. I did a search a while back on my vin and rpo codes and only about 2% of Tahoe's that year had my options. I'll check using the VIN with dealer in the morning to be sure. It may come up that they don't make my type radiator anymore. If that's the case then I will open up my options. Thanks for that part lookup.

On the surface it appears I may have the first one listed because the RPO codes shown for 22840117 are not on my options sticker. Part 19256746 on that Amazon page appears to be for 2007-2008 Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon which is what 89Sub shows in the sig. I wish I could say for certain if that radiator would fit my truck cause it's cheap.

Checkout Rock Auto. They offer multiple radiators across different price points.
I've used Spectra Premium and Murray radiators over the years with great results for a lot less than GM.

I'm good. It seems I have a 22840117. I called around to different dealers and that was the one that consistently popped up on their screens. I still don't know for the life of me why the RPO codes and my sticker don't correlate. Anyway it is on order and should be available for pickup tomorrow. And I don't have to worry about shipping damage or warranty refunds/replacement. I live just a mile away if I have any issues. Got it for $245 after $150 discount. MSRP is around $400. However I'm still going to measure and compare the old vs. new. I'll for sure be putting the brakes on if there are any wild discrepancies. I still want to retain my HD cooling capacity if possible for various reasons.
