Lost 3rd & 4th after solenoid swap

I think I messed up guys...
01 tahoe lt 4x4 180k
Bought it and dude said it had an 05 recently swapped trans. His receipt was half cocked from some random little shop in Orlando Fl. So on my merry way and 4th gear was randomly not engaging. It threw the code for the solenoid and suddenly 4th was not there anymore. Had reverse, 1,2,3 only. Little google Youtube and tyf and I'm convinced I can handle this.
Bought the 7 piece kit with harness all ac Delco kit from a trans shop out of detroit on ebay. Got her up on the lift at my old work, and away we go parts swapping. It all goes smoothly. Too smooth I guess.
Back together in a leisurely 2hrs, put her on the ground top her off and now I have 1st and 2nd only.
Buddy found a random plunger in the drain we used and I don't think it's related, tho it looks like it could be. Any ideas?

ir probably burned up the clutches/band with the failed solenoid.

I'm an absolute transmission noob... would it cause me to lose 3rd tho whereas I had it before the solenoid swap?

Its never a good thing to have PLO's (Parts Left Over) after taking a tranny apart. That "random plunger" looks to be a 3-2 Control valve. It goes into the valve body along with a spring before you put the 3-2 Control Solenoid back on the valve body. You should probably fix that.

It worked! You were right that diagram was just the view I needed. I had focused on the a &b solenoid side. Thank you so much! She hauls ass like she should now!
