I totally am on the same page as you about the starting circuit of the HID's goes. It just confuses me that I've had the HID's in for over a year, zero problems and now they're acting up. Thats what I can't figure out. And I mentioned I have Projectors cause I didn't know if that would change things. My headlights, on the projector bulb socket it says " do not use High Intensity Discharge bulbs" but I am anyways haha I don't think it would matter though what kinda bulb is used in a projector.

How old is your battery and what kind of health is it in? Could be your battery is fading so you just don't have the juice you used to....

Does someone know how I would wire in a relay to give my ballasts more juice? What do I hook it up to on the ballast?

Watch this; it's pretty straight-forward. I think a lot of people skip this step because they think it's going to be complicated or something, but it's really not.

Watched the video and wow it is so simple haha and better yet I have that same exact relay harness he used in the video. I bought one when I ordered my HID's but it didn't come with directions so I never installed it. Deff installing that harness tomorrow after work. I'll post up tomorrow with a report if it solves the problem. It should though.

Knobz - i had a similar issue with my fog HIDs and i ended up finding out it wasnt the power causing the issue it was the ground not being enough. Ended up tapping into the ground wire and grounding it at a location on the frame with other grounds and bang resolved. Thought i just pass that along. If you have that harness then just go ahead and install it that should resolve it for you. Good luck and let us know if it works.

So I've installed the new harness with the relay that is supposed to supply more power and it's been about 4 days now and it still constantly is messing up and not turning on every time. I'm gonna go have my battery tested since its about 3 years old maybe older.

Anyone have any other ideas of a possible problem?

With your truck already running, can you switch the knob off/on and have the HID's fire up everytime?

If so, I would go with ryan.m's suggestion of a time delay relay. This way, the ballast will fire up after the voltage is at 14.2-14.4 versus 12 volts. Just use a DEI 528t, and you can delay turn on anywhere from 1 to 90 seconds.

Well my switch on the dash is broken. The ON/OFF feature doesn't do anything. So I should maybe get a new switch?

i read somewhere there is a way to override the auto headlight option by jumping some wires at the pcm. Mine mess up and flicker but i turn them off for a minute and back on then they are fine
