Low oil pressure on 6.2l 2007 escalade

Glad you mentioned all data. A coworker of mine at Mercedes is going to do it for me if the sensor and oil filter ect don't do the trick.. before I dive into the oil pump. Thank you all so much for the help! I hope to hear common feedback on the issue I'm having like many others. Parts should be in tomorrow so I can get things rolling
No prob! Remember if you do the oil pump itself then you have to also take off the water pump, front timing cover, etc and it will become much more labor intense. I'd honestly swap the o-ring first and see if that fixes it and start car back up after you put on new pan but wait to put anything else on and see if that fixes it. If you start up and it's still low/no pressure then all you have to do is drain oil and take off oil pan again and then start on front cover etc instead of having to take everything back off again. If it's good then re-assemble diff and all that and you are good to go.

BTW the Fel-Pro O-ring replacement part is Fel-Pro 72401, you can get it at a local Autozone/Oriellys for around ~$10 or on Amazon for around ~$2.

Thank you so much jagsta! I will definitely see how it goes! I'll be hopefully getting it back from the dealership today or tomorrow

Had the exact same problem with our 07 denali (6.2)

I swapped sensor, check for screen, tried diff filters/oils. Then bit the bullet and tore into it. I checked o ring first and when I took it out (again, probably 6 hours, never dropped an oil pan before) it was super obvious. It was flattened and had a cut clear through it (sorry about the crappy picture) I was pretty excited that was the only problem and not the $300+ oil pump (if I did the work myself!)

Plus side was, my oil pan was leaking arleady so it needed fixed anyway.

I also bought a Chilton's manual because I couldn't find the bolt pattern for the pan anywhere online at the time. It has paid for itself in other projects just by giving me the torque specs

This o-ring issue can cause the chatter at startup correct? I have the chatter but no low oil pressure light...just wondered if it was worth the time to replace / inspect next oil change...

Thank you so much! I'll be looked my into all this more! Just an update, the shop said I should have the truck back today from them fixing the EBCM (if they don't break the bolts in the valve and make me replace it which is $885) and then I can start digging into the oil pressure Issue. I'm afraid to tear only the oil pan out to see if it's just an o ring so might just replace the pump at the same time I do the o ring just to eliminate go through it again

Also is this for the 07 and up 6.2L?

Yeah they are an issue for all of the motors of this style 4.8-6.2

The YouTube vid for the 5.3 Chevy isnt identical to your vehicle but it's super close.

This is what came out of the oil pan..that light colored stuff is fine glittery metal shards. Oh and I put in the right filter before I drained it .started for 5 seconds to see if it fixed it (it didn't) it and when I took the filter back off..and it was dry like I just pulled it out of the box..this is not looking good. And the truck sounds terrible! It didn't sound like this when I gave it to the dealership! Now I'm mad! :flame:. I feel like this wouldn't have gotten worse if they weren't pulling it in and out of the shop like I told them not to. Idk what to do know. My buddy that's a tech at Mercedes said it's seeming like I'm going to need a new engine

Change your main ground cable see if that fixes the quirky issues. Very common.
Throw some Lucas in the motor for now untill you get the oil pressure figured out. If the reading on the dash is working then it's likely the pick up tube gasket. Drop the oil pan clean it out put it back up.

My motor makes all kind of ugly sounds before it's warmed up. It still runs like a champ though and I have less miles than you.

You will be okay.

There's no pressure gauges on the cadillacs. But I know it's not a sensor because I pulled the new oil filter off as I was draining the old oil and found that not a drop of oil went into the filter. It's dry. And that means that the pump is bad.
