Buster, you can always slit the pipe for an inch or two and compress or expand as needed. Just make sure you weld the seam up as well.

Love my 12909 on my denali. I got it from advance auto parts. They always have coupons and ship free.

Most good exhaust shops should have a bunch of tips In stock. Work out a deal to get the tip from wherever does the welding for you.

But is there a specific length that I need for the exhaust tip?

Not sure. There is not much pipe to attach a tip if you keep the resonator. It's also a funky curved pipe It would be hard to buy one your really happy with without being able to hold it up to the truck.

I am looking to install the 12909 on my 2008 Yukon Denali but also want to install a new tip with it. What length should I be looking for?

Any recommendations?

You can get any length tip you want as long as the inlet diameter matches your tailpipe. Go take a look at your truck and determine what you think will look good for a length- your personal preference. If your current tip is removable pay attention to how far out the tailpipe sits with the tip removed. If your current tip is welded on then you will want to get a new tip slightly longer than the old if you're going to cut the tip off.

You then have options on the outlet diameter, clamp-on vs weld on, chrome, polished stainless, etc.

And got it welded in today actually since I finished work early. I like it so far. Seems quieter at idle than stock...
