Magnaflow makes several different mufflers that make different levels of sound. Research those.

Asking pretty much the same question in a different way is really going to yield the same result. One of the best minds on here.....Jenna....... has chimed in too.

I would say get the muffler alone, get the SLP tips or equivalent, get the AirAid, the tune, and bam.......

Stick with a stainless muffler........ get a Magnaflow or a Borla, move up or down their catalog for loudness variations.

Watching videos on the net is not a good way to get an idea of sound. There are a lot of discrepancies in the camera used, sound conditions, etc..........

"Loudness" is also a perception thing...... some people think a STOCK Denali is LOUD.

main thing is how loud he wants. Ive done a 4x9x14 magnaflow in a tahoe and yes loud and does resonate. You have to look at long run stuff also. will you do headers will you cut the cats etc.

If you want a muffler that sounds good and doesnt drone and is straight thru put the magnaflow one on and cut the resonator off and you will be happy best of all muffler is straight thru.

I already have the SLP tips, they delete the resonator in one kill. That is like a $120.00.

Buy these as a kit to save money, but separately...........

The AirAid with filter is Airaid MIT $112.67 AirAid Non-oiled Filter $54.84.......

That leaves the muffler....... about 130.00 or less for a MF.

I agree with Tony, if you plan on further engine mods (headers, cam, blower) exhaust WILL get louder. I hated my Magnaflow after headers and cam, even moreso when I put on the blower. Immediately switched to Corsa.

wondering what muffler you were using? 5x11x28 or 5x8x18. Big difference on sound.
