magnaflow muffler vs full catback

so would there really be any performance benefit from installing the entire catback vs just stalling the muffler?

IMO, not unless the stock pipe was 2" in diameter(I am not sure on the id/od of our stock pipes) then the larger diameter would flow more but I think stock the pipes are 2.75"-3". The other difference would be madrel bending in the tubing but again IMO, I think that would affect the tone a bit more than a few extra hp to be worth it. I would invest more in the headers and ypipe than the catback.

So will just changing the muffler give you a deeper growl, cause thats what I was looking for? I so what brands should I be looking for

anybody running a ****** aerochamber. sound great on f bodies. what about these 5.3s.

im still trying to get oriented to the truck and not think like its a camaro. just sold it a couple weeks ago and picked up the tahoe.

i have a magnaflow and it sounds real nice.i had gibson headers and exhaust on my old truck and it was crazzzzy loud!!

if you know a place that will weld shit up cheap, you can save a lot of money by getting the magnaflow muffler and a couple of high flow cats and have it all cut and welded up for probably less then half...

I plan to remove my cats and hammer out all the 'media' inside and re-weld them back in.

However, if you are thinking about installing long tube headers, these will usually eliminate the two cats. So if you are planning headers, then just get the magnaflow
