Magnetic ride shock replacements

So it seems lately places are starting to get the GM OEM rear Z95 magnetic ride control rear shocks in stock for our rigs and the price has jumped up significantly.

ACDELCO Part # 84176675 are now $435.79/ea. on rockauto

They used to be around $383+/- per previously on rockauto.

This makes the rear ARNOTT AS3066 option now $384 cheaper when replacing both rear shocks. Which is significantly more attractive.

I've been finding mixed information on the ARNOTT AS3066 rear shocks though. Some sites state they too are filled with magnetic fluid designed to work with the OEM Z95 suspension system. Some places say the plug that plugs into the OEM shock cable connection for those with the factory Z95 magnetic ride control is to just "over ride" the factory suspension system so there are no error codes.

So I had the same misconception and was trying to get front and rear arnott replacementd but fronts were out of stock.
To my knowledge they are a delete kit with built in sensors. Just installed the rears this past weekend and have no complaints so far

Does anyone have a negative experience removing the mrc? The shop I am wanting to change out my front and rears is trying to talk me into keeping it. The guy is saying it will affect ride quality and tire wear, to which I tell him that everyone says it does affect ride quality BUT in a positive way.

Is the job easy enough to just do in a garage at the house with a floor jack and jack stands?

I deleted it on all 4 corners with the SDE sensors and the truck rides great on the new setup.
2016 XL Denali, front bilstein 5100 on stock springs, rear arnott struts with auto level and belltech 2/4 drop.

I was riding on blown front magrides and when I got the truck they were already on their way out (was a very bouncy ride) so maybe someone can chime in with their insight based on working magride.

All in all no regrets here

Nope. I use Xineering Shock Sims with rear air bypass. Bilstein 6200 up front and 5100 in the rear. Granted the 6200s might be overkill but I am so glad to have ditched magnaride.

Yup. Just a regular shock swap. Magnaride delete is just pigtails into which you plug a resistor from the kit.

Rock Auto is sold out also. Are the Arnott's and other aftermarket MRC replacements just as good as the AC Delco? She's been bouncing around for a couple weeks.

Did you try the part number in a Google search to see who may have them in stock. Also a GM dealer can do a search of other dealers nation wide.

I just put the Arnotts in the rear of my ‘15 Yukon Denali XL. They’ve been installed for not even a week; They ride great. So far so good.

I have the Z95 suspension on my Denali and did the Arnott replacements. Way better than stock and air leveling still works. I recommend it even if the Maganride hasn't gone bad yet.

Does yours sit level with the new Arnotts without a leveling kit? Mine does and according to the person I talked to at Arnott, it should sit exactly the way it did with the AC Delco Z95s without a leveling kit, however that is not the case.

Not that I'm complaining that it sits level with the new struts without a leveling kit, but just wondered if anyone else has this issue or if mine are somehow installed incorrectly? Although I'm not sure how they could be installed incorrectly...

When I first put my Arnotts on the front rode high. As if I had a level kit on. And at about 100 miles it settled back to stock height.

I really want a level kit now.

So did you have to get an alignment after the settlement? Only makes sense you should.
