@67RS427 did you change your oil pump?
Most certainly... There are a few versions and some are better than others. I opened my new one up and cleaned up any casting flash left over from production. I know I used a high volume but not the high pressure pump. It can get a bit confusing but you don't need the high pressure spring if you get a high volume pump. I'll find the part # I used and post when I can.

Well its the volume vs pressure question From what I am hearing 5.3 with dod the pump has enough volume for my SC, researching different years before dod and after, will wait for your finding.

Edit

GM tech checking the difference

The DOD pumps are actually "high volume/pressure"... I would however still replace it regardless with a good Melling pump. Well worth the $120 and if yours has 60k miles on it, should replace it anyways. If you spin it over 6k at all, it will help.

@67RS427 ordered both, will see what my gm guy says one is standart volume high pressure and the other high volume high preassure, personally don’t think the second one will hurt maybe bad for gaskets?
