Ok so this is what I have concluded from what I have seen with my own eyes
The pipes coming out of both cats are the same on 5.3 and 6.2 but the size of the output of the y pipe on the 6.2 exhaust is the 3.5 where as the 5.3 is 2.5 or 2.75 so the flange you are talking about on the 07 and 08 doesn't really come into play for I am trying to keep a completely oem exhaust with no welding done before the flange therefore dealer wouldn't notice and I keep my warranty.

Okay so I am stuck between the GMPP Touring Borla and the 24 inch Magnaflow.

Meaning basically nothing has changed since the start of this thread........

I want a strong sounding exhaust that goes near dead silent at cruising. Corsa is just too much dinero....

Hey, does anyone know which holds it's sound better? Meaning out of the Borla Vs. Magnaflow which one "burns" less packing over time.

Stock 5.3L 2011 Muffler: 20882403
Stock 5.3L 2011 Cats/Ypipe: 20854453/20854454 (one looks be California emmisions or something, same size piping though)
Stock 5.3L 2011 Clamp y-pipe to muffler: 25940557

Stock 6.2L 2011 Muffler: 15896609
Stock 6.2L 2011 Cats/Ypipe: 15905949/15896591 (2nd calif emissions...etc)
Stock 6.2L 2011 Clamp y-pipe to muffler: 20779890

Since the clamps have different part numbers (number 10) on the y-pipe to muffler on the 5.3 and 6.2's leads me to believe that the pipe is smaller coming from the Y-pipe on the 5.3 than the 6.2. That being said, if you got the stock 6.2 muffler system, an exhaust shop can make an adapter to make it fit. It is so easy for them to make that fit, you could do it and it shouldn't affect the warranty. No one would ever notice that anyway.

I do not know the exact measurements of the sizes of the pipes right there on the 2011's. I know on the 2007-2008's that the pipes were different sizes on the 6.2 and 5.3, but the connector there was the same. So you could just bolt it right up. I think the pipe on the 5.3 was 2.75" and I know the 6.2 is 3.5". I hope this isn't too confusing!

I want to replace the cats and y pipe with the stock 6.2 cats and y pipe!
I'm trying to be clear I'm obviously failing.

Thank you for finding those part numbers did you happen to notice if the exhaust manifolds had different part numbers going from 2011 hoe to 2011 escalade.
I'm really serious about this mod I just need to clear up the fittest questions.

I'll try to state it again.
The only thing I dont won't to replace is the manifolds. I want to have the Gm parts with now aftermarket welding or parts.
I just need to know if it's a bolt on.

Yes, the 5.3 definitely has different manifolds than the 6.2. I get what you're saying and I understand what it is you want to do. But, since I do not have personal experience with the new exhaust fitting, I do not know for sure.

I am pretty sure how this works though...coming out of your y-pipe should be a 2.75" pipe or something very close to that. That will connect to a very similar size pipe. If you get the exhaust, from AFTER the y-pipe and back...you will have a 3.5" pipe. So, what I am trying to get at here...you'll basically be trying to connect a 2.75" pipe into a 3.5" pipe. Will it bolt up exactly like factory at this connection pint? NO.

Can it be made to work with ease? Yes...

You aren't messing with anything that has sensors or anything, so I wouldn't worry about it. It is not going to void your warranty.

So I can't put the 6.2 part number 1 in the diagram on the 5.3?
Sorry just trying to clarify.

I just realized I typed way more than I need to. So, you basically want to add parts 1, 10 and 11?
