Very very nice man, talk about a quality install!! So, I assume that not only do they fold now, but also you were able to get the auto dimming, signals and heated features to work as well as powered glass movement?

Just now saw the video, that answered my signal part of the question!

You can also add power folding mirrors to 99-02s as well. I did it on my 2001 Suburban. You'll need a 2002 Escalade power folding mirror switch and to do a little wiring.

The mirrors came out of a 2006 I believe and as most of you may or may not know, the electrical connectors are different. So instead of just cutting and splicing wires, I purchased some OEM connectors and made the 2006 mirrors plug and play into a 2001.

I refered to this thread for the wiring:

Here is a short video of them in action:

How difficult was it to wire up the mirror turn signals into your 2001? Looks great btw!

I'm a little late to this party, but I found this thread while looking for info to add dl3 mirrors to the wife's 02 Yukon. I should be installing my ca671 in my 05 XL with the dl3 option and might attempt either folding with key off or just via auxiliary on the alarm. Either way, I might attempt wiring into the switch contact in the driver door module and isolating with a diode. Doing this I will eliminate the extra cost and wiring of timer relays and such; also using he factory controls so they work exactly as intended from GM. Basically it will work off of the switch instead of supplying power to the mirrors. I would not recommend this to anyone who does not have extensive soldering skills using precision irons on circuit boards and such. I will bring an update if/when I do it and whether or not it works.

I definitely wish you luck on the project! Take pics and post up!

you know thats why alarms have a parking light output, for visual confirmation and they also chirp...

And I am not trying to be overly critical but I have installed alarms solid for 20+ years and there are ways of confirming your alarm is armed instead of having your mirrors fold in, just saying

There are different unique ways for visual confirmation; mirrors in/out, airbags dropped/raised, etc. If you are implying that there is a right way and a wrong way, well that is simply not true.

If that is not what you were implying, than I really don't know what your point was.

I will for sure, its looking now though that it won't be this weekend, and I might end up finding another door module to try it out with so I don't ruin my current one.

Sounds to me like more hate and jealousy of people who go above and beyond to do the quirky things we want to do.
