Keep getting this code, when I had a tech come and check it out before I put in a new fuel pump I had no problems but he said that normally when the regulator goes bad you'll get that p0306 or p0304 or p0308 or all of them at the same time depending on how bad it is, any truth to this? Anyone had experience with this?

So I pulled the plug and this is what I found, seems strange how it's black on one side of the insulator, is this a bad plug maybe?

These are brand new plugs with less than 1000 miles on them

Decided to pull the cap and rotor and this is what I found seems like something isn't quite right, some of the marks on the cap are higher than the rest and are pitted. the rotor has some arcing on the side of the tip that actually has some of the rotor material actually sticking out from the end could this be causing my misfiring or is it something else?? Help please?

When the plugs were done was the cap and rotor ever replaced? If not it should have been. Your spark starts at the cap and rotor if your doing plugs its always a good idea to do the cap and rotor at the same time.

Everything was replaced at the same time including the coil

What brand of cap and rotor and plugs did you buy? The oem style distributors dont seem to like certain caps and rotors.

Oe everything, I did a smoke test on it to check for vacuum leaks just in case because my idle surges, I already put on a new iac but it doesn't help and the only time it will throw a misfire code is if im stuck in traffic

Optispark II is very picky when it comes to caps & rotors. That could definitely cause your intermittent misfire. How many miles on the cap? 20K?
