yea ive seen some low mileage motors for around 1-1500k much less than i thought.

now the other question is, do i drop 2k on a 6.0 or tune and build up the 5.3 just bolt on stuff, tune, intake, elec fans blah blah blah the usual good stuff. is a motor swap worth it when i can build up my motor for about the same price?

Spend the 2k on the 6.0. By the time you get a 5.3 where you want it you'll spend that much or more anyway

If you want torque and HP, go with the 6.0. The 5.3 is a nice motor, dont get me wrong. Also if you do the swap you can hold out for a well documented low mileage motor or if you go higher miles, have the 6.0 freshened up before install. Then you have one less major component to worry about if you are going to keep this a long time and or/haul.

No replacement for displacement :)

Agreed.

Also agreed.. It takes a lot of money to get a 5.3 to match up with a 6.0 with simple mods. Do the 6.0, get a tune, intake, and a good exhaust setup and I think you'll be very satisfied. The 6.0 is a big difference from the 5.3...

Agreed - I have the 6.0 Cold air intake, Headers, Exhaust, Tune - she pull's for sure. I really notice the difference now when I drive my mothers 07 with the 5.3 (Which used to feel faster than my 03 w/ 5.3) I pulled out the other day into traffic and damn near pissed myself when she didn't get out of her shadow.. lol

 I've noticed the same with my Burb. I'm really looking forward to getting a tune on it cuz right now it's a bit sluggish for my tastes.
