I mounted a JL MX300/1 amp under the third seat. Fit nicely and with the cargo box back in place it is completely hidden from site and no cargo space was lost.

Update: the hertz mps 250 doesn’t fit in the Escalade box. Although the spec sheet seems like it would, the basket is too wide and hits the bend the box has to accommodate the stock amps. Returning the sub and ordering the JL stealth box -_-. Should have stuck to buy once cry once mentality.
Damn, sorry dude. That hump for the stock amplifier is really what kills the possibilities for this box, on my install you may notice the woofer is not mounted square in the box. That was to allow a vent in the basket to straddle that amplifier hump.

You know, if someone wanted to relocate the stock amplifier and jack there would be tons of room in that location for standard subwoofer in an easy to fabricate box.

Thanks for everyone's contributions here. Made it easy to add the Esky box to my 2021 Tahoe. After reading reviews of the AKG system in the Esky, and their struggle to find a sub that will fit, I figured the stock sub with a little power might be be worth a try. It turns out it is pretty disappointing, so now the search begins for a sub that will fit. Here are a few photos with measurements, to help anyone looking for sub options.
Look at my post on page 4. The Fosgate fit like a glove in the opening. Yes, I had to drill a few new holes for mounting, but there was zero trimming of either the box or the sub necessary.

Got Pioneer TS-D10LS2 10" 2-ohm shallow-mount subwoofer today and it fits nicely in the Esky box Like the Rockford R2 Lancee used, I had to drill new holes and mount it out of square. I went with the pioneer over the R2, for the lower frequency response. It is a dramatic improvement over the stock AKG sub. It appears to be a very well built sub. It could use a little more power but it is plenty for now to balance out the Bose system.

The bass attenuation on the Bose system is very obvious and obnoxious. While I haven't used it much yet, first impression is that the bass knob is going to get plenty of use.

Just went to pick up the esky box that I ordered, and good thing the parts manager said let's check it first, they package these things bad sometimes..... one of the bolt holes at the top was broke in half!

Another one on order .... hoping for better results for round 2.

Had my local cartunes do the install for me. Very impressed and they said the esky box was a simple fit replacement. Amp was put in storage compartment that lifts up.

very satisfied for $1200 installed.

The sound quality of the pioneer sub is excellent. It could definitely use more power, and I would definitely recommend a bass knob, to accommodate for the Bose bass attenuation.

Update gentlemen !! So I wasnt impressed with the sq kept pushing the sub and burnt up the first one luckily the eBay seller honored the year warranty and sent a replacement as soon as I sent this one back. So here’s where we are at now… due to the odd shape of the box getting true cubic feet measurement was hard, so I did the next best thing and measured with gallons to cubic feet! Box is filled with 6 gallons which translates to .80 ft3 internal volume. Using a box calculator created a box with this internal volume and calculated necessary port to be able to tune this thing. With a 2” pvc pipe created a port opening and slid the pipe in. With a 8.5” port it’s tuned down to 42hz which will still have musical range!! A lot better for My taste to still be able to use this setup.
