I really hate that you called that back right after we both ordered for black Friday. It was funny at the time but now it’s not as funny you just need to get the damn parts already. Lol. My buddy just ordered a set of 7.0s that I get to help retrofit in his Tacoma. See how long they take to ship out.
That’s my life. Nothing is ever easy lol

Today I made my demon eyes permanent. I had them hardwired and was just unhooking the ground when I wasn’t taking pictures. Soldered an extension onto the xbt controller since they give you maybe a foot to work with :emotions34: View attachment 237291
Wish I still had tech flex laying around to cover that wire but that can be fixed later. I have my fog light relay harness Connected in the under hood fuse panel for my constant. And my dual alternator relay setup is directly behind the fuse panel running into the cabin to a fuse ignition +. When I’m at audio shows I’ll be parking it with the demon eyes on during the show/while I compete. I usually leave my windows down halfway and hood popped when it’s parked so I didn’t want to have my keys in the ignition for the demon eyes to work. Decided to make the positive wire have a male spade terminal and put a female t tap on both constant and ignition wires. So it’s connected through ignition + normally and at shows I can switch it over to the constant power in the fuse panel. View attachment 237290
Also went to the casino on Christmas eve and grabbed some night shots in the parking lot and in a parking garage on my way back home. View attachment 237288View attachment 237287View attachment 237289

I do hear the Yukon’s are a bit easier than the Tahoe’s since the headlights are bigger! If you lived closer I would gladly lend a hand but I don’t know that I would want to build a set cause I don’t trust myself enough after only building one set so far lol.

Happy new year! Finally decided to get some output comparison shots for before and after the retrofit.
All the before shots will be on the top.

Same housings I used for the retrofit in the before pics, racesport 9006 pnp led for low beam, and a similar 9005 led pnp for high beam. I re used the 9006 racesports as a secondary high beam with the retrofits.

Truck looks awesome, great build thread and retrofits are the best!! My parts are all sitting in the basement, just need to order a set of headlights to open up and cut

Thank you! If you are using reflector housings like I did I highly recommend the depo ones. Brackets are nice and sturdy and good overall build quality.

I've got a new body style tahoe, but they still make em for that. When I had my 06 Sierra I used OEM denali headlights and the drop in retro kits with the brackets and the MH1 5.0. It was kickass, also spoiled me on how easy it was haha

happened to be looking at my corner lights and noticed the lens was separating damnit. Upon further inspection the butyl I used from Home Depot isn’t like the morimoto retro rubber where it actually sticks and hardens up. So the butyl I used literally did nothing basically I’m surprised they held together this long lol. I pulled the lights back apart without even baking them.

Spent a couple hours clearing off all the old butyl, adding retro rubber, and resealing them. Also hit them with a quick polish and they are good to go luckily.

Went to the wrecking yard with the lady today. There was a 02 Escalade ext truck sitting in the very back. Gauge Cluster was still in it!!! My buddy works there so I called him and asked for a price and mileage.
He said they normally sell them for 175 but he will give me it for 125. Okay score rarely can find them that cheap. And he said the mileage was 194000. Mines at 204000. So pretty close. We got up to the front and he said He would do 100. Hell yes!! I’m stoked at this point.

Got home and pulled my HD cluster out. Swapped over the green leds. Also for anyone who has problems with 00-02 clusters acting up I found out after bass broke my hd one that the female end on the cluster doesn’t have support so where it solders to the circuit board breaks easily. Made sure to fix this one before that can happen. Just put a layer of ca glue underneath it for support and sturdiness.

got it hooked up and it’s at 199000 so only 4000 away from mine. Couldn’t have luck like that again I’m super stoked been wanting one since I bought the Tahoe. 5342FFF8-87BB-4B49-B283-834699996435.jpeg
