Alright here is a video I put together. So far I like the dynomax better. It’s less restrictive and sounds better throughout the rpms. I took the video the same way I did back when I first got the longtubes installed with the 40s as you’ll see. Once I get the full 3” exhaust done I’ll put another video on
I think it sounds good! Have you taken it for a ride yet? Any drone at highway speeds?

yeah I have drove it a decent amount yesterday and today since I put it on. Cruised right around 80 going to my uncles house on the highway. Doesn’t drone at least not that I notice. I have a crap load of sound deadener in my Tahoe though so I really don’t know how much is being muffled by all of the deadener and spray foam. If anything though it’s less drone than my flowmaster was. It feels a lot better now that I have a straight through style muffler compared to the chambered. Don’t get me wrong I love flowmasters especially how they sound on my 69 pickup(longtubes, true dual 2.5” with 40’s dumped in front the the axle) but I’m enjoying this dynomax on the Tahoe. Definitely gonna order the exhaust piping soon so it’s 3” all the way out. Might change the sound a touch but I don’t feel like it will make that much of a difference.

Damn that's a big difference! I never knew you had long tubes. Did you have to get it retuned when you got them installed? And how was the power difference? Cost?

yes I deleted egr and cats. My buddy does gm ls tuning with efi live. Also used that when I did the electric fan swap as well. I think it was around 500 for the longtubes, y pipe, and stage 8 locking bolts. I paid 125 for the vin unlock for efi live and my buddy did a tune and turned off rear o2 sensors/egr

Was there a noticeable power difference?

yeah with the tune, headers, and electric fan swap it was definitely noticeable. Expecially if I don’t have my 500+ lb subs/enclosure in the back haha. Everytime I pull my subs out it feels like I gain 50hp. I wish I would have done all that before the stereo and dual alts because with all the weight and extra drag on the motor its like I’m constantly towing a trailer

Mmm boost and 155+ dB stereo are two combos I really want one day lol

tried the blue tint that I ordered. On the 99-02 you can’t pull up the face easily like the 03-06 so my inky option was to put the blue tint on the face. Well two layers later it didn’t do a lot and looked like poo. The 99-02 needles aren’t easy to reset like the 03-06 so I’m gonna try to think of another way to do it.
