After i got the lights up Saturday morning it was time to start tear down of my center console/lower dash. (Fair warning for the mess of shit I had while working on it.)

Never taken the front part of my center console out before, it was a pain in the ass and after getting it out I realized I could have gotten it out easier if I would have taken out 2 bolts before the other two damnit. 16DE85E1-F2BC-4A9D-AD0E-FA10F11BA104.jpeg
Esky glove box and lower dash piece mounted. (Most likely going to swap glove boxes so I have my original rpo sticker)

lower dash panels mounted. I was getting into work mode so at this point was forgetting to take pictures as I was wiring and cleaning stuff up.

Now the clock..

SMD meters fit perfect in the clock housing with minor modification. I was gonna get the sweeping volt meter, except I really don’t like how hard they are to read one vision gets blurred from the bass so I’m gonna stick with my green led meter but decided to get the SMD output meter.

For those that don’t know this is also a sweep meter that you connect to your amp(in my case one of my sub amps) once I set it to my clip point as I turn up the bass knob it will go up with it on every bass note and tell me how high I have it turned up and if I turn it up too much into clipping.

after trimming the corner off the front plate it slid right into the clock housing. A little hot glue to hold it in and make it removable if needed and I was set. I seriously love this though the clock housing matches my cluster and the SMD OM-1 is useful. 23D9F521-B5FA-401F-9F69-4CBB2EA90559.jpeg4DAF5375-6298-4E2A-BFC2-4B75DD2DFE77.jpegE952E7B2-4985-495C-BDF7-9EDDD439662C.jpegD62AD95D-9648-4DD6-9000-4745E53FC138.jpegBE632DAF-AA2A-47D1-BA7B-31B011222C02.jpeg

Ordered two more of the black with green led halo push button switches. One for my amp fans and one for interior lights. Got a piece of abs plastic, cut it to fit, and now I have my switches/voltmeter mounted. Looks really good at night especially with all the lights working on the center console. I want to try to find out a way to make the cup holder/ashtray lights brighter since all the are is a little 74 bulb in a clear diffuser. Might have to put some more leds in there like I did for my cluster. (Also like I said I forgot to take pictures I assure you the wiring and rcas in the center console were cleaned up properly lol) 979074FF-B3E8-4EA3-8CFF-EF597041C92F.jpeg440F9BCF-3226-447A-8AA5-245415D1D2D4.jpeg77F4610A-92B9-4E55-ABC7-282DBF640E4E.jpeg734B6167-E25E-4A1E-959F-BF38519645E5.jpeg
Also here is a pic from Steve meades YouTube of what that output meter looks like fully lit. 9343A881-1403-4BF6-83E1-6E92EA30466E.jpeg

Now for that wood grain.
Since it’s easily removable and my inserts on my dash bezel around the cluster/stereo/hvac/vents are painted flat black I decided to try plasti dip for now to see how I like it.
Most likely gonna peel it off soon and wrap it but was undecided on gloss or flat black and need to order some good vinyl so this will do for now. Gonna let it dry tonight then I’ll re install hopefully tomorrow and get finished pics. You do really nice work. How does the woodgrain come off? That's one of the reasons that's stopping me from installing mine.
So since I’m terrible at updating this on time most of the time here is a update lol.

Saturday was productive. Got rid of the ****** fluorescent tube lights in my garage that burnt out and got some led ones off Amazon. My dad used these same ones in his shop and they have been working great for the past couple years. I bought the 6 pack of 4ft lights. Ran new outlets up top and they are soo much better! Worth it. Plus you can’t go wrong for 40 bucks View attachment 259404View attachment 259405 View attachment 259406
I am also even more sad with how much I can see the thick dust on my pickup. The Tahoe needs to be put aside soon so I can focus on my baby cause I’m ashamed of myself for letting it sit like that.
Need more pics of the C10! LOTS of C10 fans here :D. That hood reminds me of our HD hood.

thanks man! I can’t live up to how immaculate yours was/still is but I can try to make it look decent hah

that clock is bye bye on mine hehe

Thank you man. She is still living the most detailed life on the block. Jay is taking good care of her and his Impala. Both get constant love, so I am stoked for sure. Sad she is gone too though...:(

Excited for LEDs. Shocked at dust...time to 155Db the dust off that C10. Recent road trip across the USA I saw so many in worse shape. Take it off your hands and detail it up for you no worries...and yes we needs more pics always of C10s.

Keep up the good work on that monster stereo system. Pretty freakin' cool stuff!

So the wood grain from
What I can tell is a trim piece that’s kinda glued on but I also saw little dimples on it that fit in holes around the edge to align. I just went over it for now. I want to pull it off but I’m afraid of breaking the trim piece.

Yeah they really are like the 99-02 hd hoods on the 69-72s with the flat front and height. I will be starting that project again soon. Have parts stacked up for it and still stacking up lol. Here are some pics from about 9-10 years ago when I still daily drove it. 2734A6AB-61B7-4912-AC6F-BACE9312DE05.jpeg1D3FBFD8-A3D9-4234-A30D-80CCBAFE1385.jpeg0D1F6525-22B3-4B13-A54C-47DDD5C25CD8.jpeg4EBBBB83-461D-4BBD-A94A-8708FF166A7B.jpeg

That’s good to hear I see him posting pictures of it constantly on ig and fb and it’s still looking good as ever. I bet it’s weird not having it though! I’m gonna get the c20 out again soon I’m tired of seeing it covered in dust but at least it’s staying dry in the garage.
Dude, i kinda dig that first picture of the plastidip where the wood grain is still visible but is much darker.
Honestly I thought the same thing but the plasti dip would have just rubbed right off if I left it that thin. I did think about using some spray tint on it but I gotta be sure I want to because that’ll be a more permanent option.

I couldn’t help myself last night and had to see how it looked installed. I’ll try to get some daytime pics after work today. So far it’s a big improvement I think I might end up wrapping it flat black to match the dash bezel above.
