PORT IT!!!
i know someone with a xxx15 with a zapco 9.0 and it hurts.. its a massive looking sub too, like 15inches deep lol
man i'll pm you my cell number and once your in alpharetta i'll shoot up there. i work off windward pkwy so i know the area

o if AA is just Fi why the higher cost other than the chrome mag that i heard cost $100.
if the Ascendant Audio Mayhem is the exact same sub as a BTL, i'll save some money and get a BTL over the AA

I did not have room for ported plus I wanted to try out a nice sub sealed for a change. You I'll let you hear the 18 sealed. I'll throw it back in my car in may when I install a couple more amps and batts in my car. I am really trying to cut back my audio spending to continue saving for a Denali lol.

Where you work off Winward? I am really close to there. I kinda live of Kimbal bridge(close to exit 9 on 400).

You just driving a regular hoe? I'll grab the dimension I need from Narco's hoe to translate to your design.

I got access to a CNC router so it is perfect wood cuts every time. It makes for awesome boxes. The *** box in the pics above is actually 100% glued together, no screws lol. thats how good the cuts were.

Look into the SSA XCONS.
Best subs I have ever owned. They will hurt you on the low notes.

Pics of my 18's.

see your box take up the hole back of the truck. thats not what i want.
i know ppl with 3 15s and they can still fit stuff in the back.
the design i have for 2 15's in 9^3 tuned to 38hz will be perfect b/c i would still have some space in the back of the truck and get 4-5x louder than what i currently have

i have looked at ssa xcons, but i prefer the omega's so far over everything else ive been looking at. i know ssa's are good but when you compare an xcon vs a omega the omega is just a stronger woofer.

i can get DC AUDIO 15"LV5 D1's for $415 each too. thats gonna be my max budget. $830-850 for the pair
right now the omegas are #1 for me, the Fi btl #2, the dc's #3 and the audioques if i stay on a budget

You really don't have enough power for lvl5s, btls, and aluminum hdc3s will be cutting it close.

2 fi Q, AA havocs, or daves PSI OEM subs are right where your power puts you and they would all sound great and get PLENTY loud. I think Dave's will run you exactly $600 shipped for 3200-3500rms power handleing for the pair.

What setups have you heard before? I *might* put my *** in this weekend. I'll let you know if I do. I am coming home tonight and I'll let you know tomorrow so you could come check it out on your lunch break or something.

Here's a pic when I was rocking the 15's. Much more room.

dscf1960t.jpg

and im willing to make the box higher so it doesnt have to be as deep so i can still have space for the stroller.it can be flush with the back seat, doesnt have to be under the seat but i dont want it higher than the back seat.

as for power i'm willing to grab another 3500.1 so power really isnt the issue.
dj at audioque told be 2 hdc315s would perform perfect with the 3500.1
at first i was gonna get the 3000.1 and since its does 1500x2 and dj said that would be great too since its just 2 1500.1 internally strapped i figured id opt for the 3500.1 for a little extra power.
I've heard 2 btls with 1500 on each and it hurt. it hit very hard and the gains were only about 35-40% up.

using rockford box calculator i figured a box 48L x 20W x 20H is around 10cu ft... that perfect and doesnt take up a bunch of space.

kevin i'm not working tomorrow but i'll be around. im not far from alpharetta being in duluth... only about 10-15 minutes from northpoint mall area.
put i'll toss you my number in a pm in a minute.

as for systems i've heard:
2 dc lv4 xl 15s with 4400rms
2 fi btls with 3000rms
4 audioque hdc315s with 4400rms
2 dd 9515's with 4000rms (my dad's denali)
3 treo ssx15s walled in the back of a burban( dont know how much power but it hurt LOL)

daxz1231 has a design that i really like.
he's running 2 18s 91518s with a memphis 4000.
if i do a design like his with 2 15s i'll have the space i want. i know a few ppl that put batteries under the back seat.. im willing to do that too so that the box can go closer to the seat.

I love aeroported boxes. I did this box in Jan for my friend's custom RE HC 15s.

You'll have to factor in port and woofer displacement so that 8-9 cube ported box will actually end up being closer to 10-11 cubes.

You could go with a pair of 18s sealed(48x21x20) for daily pounding/lows/sq, and do a full ported box for spl/comps(12-16cubes) down the road or whenever you wanted to. Boxes are cheap, new woofers are not lol.

So is SPL the main goal?

daily beating and strong lows are the main goal. i have competed in years. when i had my old truck and no kid or fiance i did a few comps but that truck was stolen and wrecked.
i had 2 earthquake D2's and 2 ground zero 15s. it was metered and did well but it was the old termlab meters, not the current much stiffer ones..
my kriss meter i always thought was decent but vs the current calibration on temlabs, its about 4db to friendly imo.

if you can work on something like that for me but the width of the rear of my tahoe(48") we got a perfect setup...and yea i like aero's too.. 1 huge one or 2 good size ones and we're good

Daily beating/dumping and strong lows. That sounds like FI Qs, AA Havocs, PSI OEM Stage 1s, SSA XCONs, RE HCs. Hell, see if you could get AA to cut you a deal on 4 Chaos 12s. That would be PERFECT for what you're looking for.
